"S" is for Science!

November 04, 2008

The Great Lakes Science Center is on every tourist list and "must-see" when doing research on the city of Cleveland.

There's a reason for that!

Don't miss taking to your little ones to the Science Center this fall/winter to take it all in.

Parking is easy (and covered!).  Remember to take your parking ticket to the ticket counter to be validated for a reduced charge.  We have yet to visit and not had fantastic customer service from the staff.

Our favorite, by far is the Polymer Fun House - we often spend our entire visit in the Fun House area!  Water play when weather permits ... a bounce house ... mirror fun ... dress up clothes ... plastic balls ... computers with child-friendly programming.

We also often pack snacks or a light lunch and pop a squat at one of the two cafeteria areas (please be forewarned that the food/drinks sold at the cafeterias are pricey!).

Skip the IMAX until your kiddos are old enough to not be overwhelmed by the massive screen and amazing sound effects.  Our oldest didn't care for the IMAX until he was at least 10 or so.

Tickets are $9.50/adults and $7.50 for children ages 2-17.  Yearly family memberships start at $75.00.

I'm a huge fan of season passes, or becoming members of area activities - so as to show continued support of what our city has to offer.  There is nothing better than deciding, at the spur of a moment, to take off and head to the Science Center!

Go ... enjoy ... learn!
