Books for Sleepyheads.

November 17, 2008

Bedtime is quite possibly my favorite time of the day ... and not just because it promises this tired mommy a bit of a break, but because at bedtime - children are sometimes the most receptive ... receptive to cuddling and snuggling ... willing to exchange eskimo kisses and listen to lullabies.

Our all-time favorite "snuggle stories" are here for your perusal ...

Good Night America and the entire Good Night series written by Adam Gamble.  This series earns five stars from me!  Adam has created an amazing set of books that encourages children to explore the land they live in, across the states and the oceans too!

Little Sleepyhead, written by Fran Manushkin.  Perfect for your older kiddos, it is a precious story about a child simply needing something to hug.

Bed Bugs, by David Carter.  What a darling, darling pop-up (and sometimes pop-OUT) book!  David Carter is a must own in our eyes!

And our favorite lullaby?

Sleep my little baby . . . sleep my little you.
Sleep my little baby . . . and dream of powder blue.
Flowers in the sunshine and boats upon the lake.
Sleep my little baby . . . I'll see you when you wake.

Enjoy reading your children a story this evening ... from our house to yours, we wish you all a peaceful night!
