Bringing the Beach Indoors

February 13, 2009

It's cold.  I get that.  It can sometimes be depressing this time of year when activities seem to wane and the stir-crazy kids drive you batty. Bring the sunshine and beach INDOORS with these fun suggestions! Get the Stage Set Pull out your beach towels and suntan lotion.  Slather on the lotion (no, you don't need it for its sunburn protection, but the smell can instantly bring you "to  Read more...

Get movin' even though you're stuck inside!

January 24, 2009

We really like music in this house and you can find at least one of us - at any given moment - bopping around to some tunes. We always seem to struggle between whether to let mama listen to HER music, or whether to let the silliness reign supreme with goofy kids' music. We've reached a compromise and we alternate our music selections in the house. At 5:00 (or nearly 5:00) everyday, we have a  Read more...

How to ring in the New Year WITH your kiddos!

December 29, 2008

I know that New Year's Eve is typically a "night on the town" kind of celebration, but this family has long made it a "night in with family" evening instead. Here are some fun and easy ideas for how to celebrate INSIDE with your kiddos this Wednesday! ~ Purchase or make party hats ... what party is complete without them? ~ Create funky clocks on posterboards. Talk about the relevance with the  Read more...

Holiday Scavenger Hunt!

December 23, 2008

Looking for a creative way to tire out the littles this holiday break? Create a simple scavenger hunt! Write up a series of easy clues (don't bother with getting TOO fancy, unless you're just itching to be creative). Send your kidlets on a search around the house for various items until they've completed their mission ... and discover something fun (maybe their Christmas PJs, maybe some fun  Read more...

Hello Winter!

December 20, 2008

Are you ready for the longest day of the year? Sometimes I feel like any day that ends with "day" could quite possibly qualify for the longest day of the year! How about you take advantage of that "extra" time with your family and create all of the workings of an indoor campout? My suggestions are only an offering ... something to get your brain started. Turn off the television for starters ...  Read more...

Top 5 things to do on a rainy day!

October 22, 2008

We all know that Cleveland can be a dreary place to be when it's raining (and let's not even start talking about when the snow starts flying). Have you exhausted the craft box, had enough of puppet shows and do not want to make yet another fort with the kitchen chairs and your sleeping bags? What to do when it's muddy outside and there is no chance for sunshine in the forecast?  Read more...
